As part of the region's Mistral Year, the Félibrige is offering 7 lectures, each of which will ideally be given 4 times (in 4 different départements). Each lecture is followed by an artistic performance. Duration: 1h30

Music according to MISTRAL

These are the themes that will be broached very briefly, such is the scope of the work, and the time allotted duly counted. Nietzsche advocated the "mediterraneization" of music (to free oneself from Wagnerian language), and this is what Charles Gounod attempted, apparently successfully, with his "Mireille", an opera premiered on March 19, 1864. But Mistral reconciled the whole of the Oc people with its telluric memory, inexorably scorned, confiscated and mocked...

This paper will therefore highlight, as far as it can, the poet's laudable project, thanks to the action of the Félibrige, the doyen movement in this field, as well as that of his innumerable and very active epigones.
