Exhibition of paintings by Bernard Blanc, a French artist, using sea urchin shells (sea urchin tests), whose aesthetic characteristics are particularly ornamental and appreciated by marine decoration enthusiasts. This innovative exhibition of paintings is created by a French artist from Nice, using sea urchin shells, also known as "test d'oursins". Mr. BLANC was inspired by the work of cartography pioneer Gérard MERCATOR (1512-1594), after breaking a sea urchin shell.
He used Mercator's technique to flatten the sea urchins to create an original, aesthetic representation of these marine animals. It takes around fifty hours of meticulous work to complete a painting. Passion is the driving force.
