Jill, a sublime dancer from the Geneva bourgeoisie, secretly falls in love with Fabio, the husband of her best friend Carla. Fabio is a publisher, a man of letters and an actor. To escape this impossible love, Jill goes to Paris, where she becomes a top model and then a movie star. Harassed by the paparazzi and the public, adored then hated, she loses control of her personal and emotional life. Her existence becomes an increasingly suffocating hell.
