La Grimobile: soapbox race

Grimaud Entertainment/recreation

Calling all intrepid drivers, amateurs or professionals, kamikazes of driving: a great new feature is coming to Grimaud in
is coming to Grimaud in 2025! An event that won't leave you indifferent...

Sunday 6 April 2025 between 10 am and 6 pm.

The ‘Grimobile: soap box race’ is making its debut in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. You'll have to be in Grimaud on Sunday 6 April 2025 to see the village resemble the Monaco circuit. And that's just the beginning!

Imagine yourself as Flash McQueen aboard a SpaceX rocket: explosively fast towards the straw bales. A huge dose of fun in store!

The aim: to reach the finish line as quickly as possible and without too much damage during crazy races with
with treacherous turns in the craziest thing you've ever built.
The ingredients: be original and creative with a dose of dinginess for the aesthetics of your soapbox, and be ingenious and skilful in its design, as your vehicle will move by the force of gravity alone.

So if you like thrills and chills, laughter and a good atmosphere, now's the time to sign up for our Grimobile.

Alone or in pairs, with friends, family or colleagues to represent your company, try to win the ‘race’ prize for the fastest car, the ‘creativity, originality and animation’ prize for your contribution to the hilarious atmosphere of the day or the ‘public's favourite’ prize which will reward the vehicle preferred by the public voting throughout the day by digital means.
It couldn't be easier: go to www.grimaud-provence.com, click on the ticketing tab, fill in the form and get out your credit card, because there's a charge for taking part. But it's not expensive... Just €10 per vehicle.

Here are a few tips to help you!

Tips for building your soapbox:
- a theme that packs a punch,
- a solid, stable chassis,
- a fairly light body,
- good, clear wheels: yes, the bodywork could slow you down by rubbing against the wheels,
- not forgetting the brakes: it would be a shame if you flipped over in the middle of the race anyway... (although a little fall might make the spectators laugh!)
- and lots of colour, confetti and fun!

Tips to help you prepare for the Grimobile:
- Choose champions in your team,
- be in good physical condition: it's not easy pushing your buddy in the soapbox, and running too!
- Test the cars once they're finished: what bad luck if they fall apart during the race!
- put on your best helmet like Lewis Hamilton on the Le Castellet circuit!
And don't forget to think about how you're going to get your car to Grimaud.

A spectacular and surprising event that will amaze young and old alike. Fun and conviviality will be the watchwords of this day where, in addition to the vehicles, you'll find bars, food outlets, DJs and live concerts, from 10.00 am to 8.00 pm.

Make a note of the date in your diary!
