‘Baroque Splendours at St Mark's in Venice’ - Concert by Rhaissa Cerqueira, soprano and Daniel De Morais, theorbo, archlute and baroque guitar. After graduating in opera singing, RAISSA CERQUEIRA continued her studies at the Haute école de Musique de Genève, where she obtained a Bachelor's degree in Baroque singing and a Master's degree. Her concert repertoire includes masterpieces by C.Monteverdi, G.Carissimi, F.Sances, B.Strozzi, G.Frescobaldi, G.Caccini, Sigismondo d'India, T.Merula, G. Kapsperger, Rossi, Cavalli, Caldara, Alessandro Scarlatti, Vivaldi, Lully, Monteclair, Charpentier, John Dowland, Purcell, H. Schütz, Buxtehude, the ‘Passions St. Jean et St. Mattieu’ by J.S. Bach, numerous cantatas by Bach, Telemann... etc. On stage, she performs numerous roles throughout Europe. Rhaissa Cerqueira is co-founder and director of the Mnemusik ensemble, which specialises in the interpretation of early music. Alongside her career as a soloist, she is a choral conductor and singing teacher.
Lute player and choral conductor Daniel de MORAIS studied at the Haute école de Musique de Genève and has enjoyed a solid international career. He performs regularly with various ensembles at Europe's leading early music festivals. He draws on his vast experience as a continuo player and soloist, and has made several CD recordings for radio and television. He is co-founder and director of the Mnemusik ensemble, which specialises in the performance of early music, and conducts the mixed choir of Vuisternens-dt-Romont - Fribourg.
