Danse : Invisibili

Sainte-Maxime Entertainment/recreation Dance

Invited to take up a residency in Palermo, Aurélien Bory has turned the shock of his encounter with The Triumph of Death, a 15th-century mural that has become the symbol of the city, into the visual and philosophical support for his new creation.

A dizzying scenic score for a series of ‘invisible’ scenes in which dance, music and song intertwine.

The author, director and head of Compagnie 111 has a gift for bringing scenography to life! Between his fingers the canvas, featuring two painters, musicians and dancing women, mysteriously comes to life and, through his choreography, takes on a new dimension rooted in contemporary reality.

The show, like a visual novel, unfolds in a constellation of stories transcended by the charismatic presence of Gianni Gebbia, a saxophonist-composer with an international career, Nigerian singer Chris Obehi, who began his new life in Palermo singing in Sicilian, and the dancers seen by Aurélien Bory ‘as the daughters of Pina Bausch’: Valeria Zampardi, Blanca Lo Verde, Maria Stella Pitaresi, Arabella Scalisi.

As always with the artist, his theatre of space and the body blurs the boundaries between disciplines and transports us to a fascinating elsewhere. Towards ‘a danced painting of the world between ecstasy and disillusionment’.
