Gassin
Splendid domain of 40 ha of vines from which emerges an AOC Côtes de Provence wine, Domaine Bertaud Belieu is located in the heart of the Saint-Tropez peninsula in Gassin in the Var. Producing 80% rosé wines, the Estate is also known for the quality of its Red and White wines with Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Côtes de Provence.
Its exceptional location, on the border between the Massif des Maures, sandy-limestone, and the raphaëloise, clay-sandy coast, gives birth to its limino-clay soil a dozen grape varieties including grenaches, cinsaults, syrahs, tibourens, mourvèdres and rolles. The plots most exposed to the sun are devoted to red wines, those more calcareous, which promote the expression of minerality are used for white wines.
WE LOVE
Cuvée Bertaud Belieu Rosé Prestige 2021
Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Côtes de Provence, Gold Medal 2022 in Paris (general agricultural competition)
The color, bright and clear, is of a salmon with orange highlights. A delicate nose with aromas of peaches and white flowers, far from the classic English sweets! On the palate, the attack is frank on a balanced and long evolution and a fresh finish.
A thirst-quenching "Côtes de Provence" that rises to the top of the best rosés in the gulf, to be enjoyed as soon as possible. An aperitif rosé that can very well interfere with a seafood risotto for example...
Cuvée Bertaud Belieu Rosé Initial 2021
Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Côtes de Provence, Gold Medal 2022 in Paris (competition of independent winemakers)
The Rosé Initial 2021 with a pastel salmon pink color, asserts itself with charm on the nose with chords of dried fruits, almonds, candy and hazelnut. Complex and balanced in the mouth with hints of roundness, this rosé plays the extension with a nice length ending on aromas of cherry core.
The Rosé Initial, with its strong personality, likes the company of Mediterranean products, such as paella, ratatouille or grilled fish. Its complexity and delicious vigor make it a natural accomplice to spicy dishes or Thai cuisine.
THE WINES
Cuvée Bertaud Belieu Héracléa 2021

This wine offers a very light color with silver pink reflections. The bouquet is subtle with aromas of small red fruits and vine peach. The palate is harmonious with exotic flavors, beautiful persistence on smoky and iodine notes, real rosé gastronomy!
Heraclea is a Grand Rosé that is eaten like a white, right now on a red mullet filet in a cassolette in a tapenade crust for example...
Cuvée Bertaud Belieu Blanc Prestige 2020
Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Côtes de Provence
The dress is clear, shiny, golden yellow with almost green reflections. The nose is distinguished by a generous fruity, the aeration brings out notes of roasted hazelnuts. On the palate, the attack is frank, the toasted side disappears quickly to give way to fruits (white peach), on a refreshing finish.Bertaud Belieu Prestige Blanc 2021 is eaten today and in the next four years at aperitif or accompanied by a creamy risotto, white meat in sauce or a brie de Meaux...
Cuvée Bertaud Belieu Rouge Prestige 2017
Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Côtes de Provence
A beautiful purple colored dress with purple reflections It displays, on the nose, notes of dried aromatic plants, pencil lead and undergrowth. On the palate it is the well balanced Red that plays between fluidity and concentration, the tannins are fine on a final that extends on fruity notes.
A potential for evolution over at least five years. To be enjoyed, on a roasted can of bread crust with herbs for example...
Cuvée Bertaud Belieu Initial Red 2018
Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Côtes de Provence
It offers a red dress with cherry highlights. The nose is dominated by red fruits, very typical raspberry, emphasized by discreet spicy notes. On the palate, it is a balanced wine and thirst quenching first on the fruit, the little astringence disappears during the tasting with a lot of greed in the end.
It is a smart "Côte de Provence" and accessible to all palates.
Bertaud Belieu Initial Rouge 2018 is a vintage wine to be tasted now and over the next two years. Ideal for grilled herbs.
