Street of the Templars
Grimaud Historic site and monument 15th C - 16th C
The Rue des Templiers used to be the trading street of Grimaud.
All year round, daily.
Successively named Grand-Rue, Rue Droite, Rue des Juifs and, finally, Rue des Templiers, the street was home to retailers under the arcades and, on the upper floors, to wealthy families.
The mystery surrounding the name ‘Rue des Templiers’ remains unsolved to this day. Indeed, the Templars of Grimaud are nothing more than a legend that has stood up to the test of time.
